I became fascinated by mosaic art after seeing some of the pieces my mother created. I signed up for a mosaic workshop with local artist Kristi Duckworth and was hooked! I have been creating mosaic art for 11 years in the form of wall panels, serving trays, holiday decorations, bird houses, and ornaments. I work primarily with glass, but will use other materials including ceramic tiles, broken china, beads and other found objects on various projects.

My mosaic art pieces tend to be very colorful and are influenced by Frank Lloyd Wright's art glass, the arts and crafts movement, and nature. I enjoy the challenge of finding detailed objects in nature, such as flowers and trees and figuring out how to recreate those objects in glass.

I have been a member of the Memphis Arts Collective since 2015 and have exhibited my mosaic art and pottery locally. I am also a member of the Society of American Mosaic Artists and attended the SAMA National Conference in Nashville in 2019. I completed a workshop at the conference with internationally known mosaic artist/teacher Laura Rendlen.

I have been an elementary librarian with Memphis Shelby County Schools for 24 years.
