Rebecca cupples
Rebecca painted for over 25 years as a decorative artist and muralist, working with designers and clients throughout the southeast. Having painted all her life, she is basically a self-taught artist, reading many books on various techniques and working with many mediums. As a decorative artist she worked with acrylic, oil glazes, plaster, fabrics, gold leaf, silver leaf and copper leaf on walls, ceilings, furniture and accessories. The murals were painted in acrylics and that is her medium of choice for canvas and paper, although she still uses oil glazes on occasion.
Rebecca has participated in many juried and non-juried shows, winning several awards. She and her husband, Steve, recently moved back to Memphis, TN after being in Jackson, MS for 10 years, where she was in the Mississippi Artists Guild, serving as Shows chair and director. She is a member of MGAL and Artists’ Link in Memphis.
