Born in Memphis, attended Kingsbury H.S., Southwestern at Memphis (now Rhodes College), Peace Corps in Nigeria, worked on a plantation in British Honduras (now Belize), graduate school in anthropology at Northern Arizona University at Flagstaff, lots of jobs, the last of which was as a manager in the International Department at Fedex. I've dabbled in oil, watercolor and acrylic painting; thrown and molded pottery; a little photography; carved wood, marble, limestone and granite; welded steel; cast bronze, aluminum and silver; collages; stained glass; woodcut and linoleum prints; charcoal, pencil, ink, colored pencil and pastel drawing.
