Heather Jones

Trained as a graphic designer, Heather Jones is a self-taught painter who styles herself as a folk artist. Born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee, in a family of right-brained creatives, she imagines and creates delight-driven works using bold colors, lines, and unassuming imagery. Significant influences include her father‘s bohemian approach to creativity as well as her mother’s disciplined style in both fine and graphic art. Heather elaborates, “I started getting serious about art four years ago. I was intentional to only paint when and what I wanted, giving myself the freedom to explore while striving not to overwork a piece as I tried to find my voice as an artist.

Heather’s current pieces are primarily watercolor and fine liner with a bit of gouache. She also enjoys working with acrylics and alcohol ink.
